Clocks: a liquid standby-screen reveal

A silent, single-shot app launch reveal uses an expanding iridescent screen animation inside a stationary phone display.

Field notes / why it works

The first frame makes the product tangible: a landscape phone on a stand with a readable blue interface. A small colored arc starts in the lower-left within 0.25 seconds, grows into a large fluid wave around 9–11 seconds, and clears by about 15 seconds, creating a full visual arc without a cut. The clock remains readable on the right during the peak, so the spectacle still demonstrates the app.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A physical phone sits on a plain desk stand while one app interface performs a long, satisfying transformation. The post text announces the product; the video supplies visual proof of what makes it distinctive. The phone and camera stay still, so all attention goes to the screen animation.

Why it works

  • The cover shows the entire product setup and an immediately legible blue clock display before playback (0:00).
  • A small rainbow-edged liquid form grows from the lower left around 0:00.25, then becomes a large wave by 0:09.2; this creates a clear visual question and payoff inside one uncut shot.
  • The clock card stays visible at the right through the transformation (0:04.9–0:12.9), keeping the product function readable while the effect provides spectacle.
