Raycast Focus: The Distraction Spiral
A cinematic product launch film turns digital interruptions into an accelerating close-up montage before a quiet brand reveal.
Field notes / why it works
A 6.2-second opening wide lets the viewer inhabit the work scene before the first cut. Eye, cursor, clock, and alert inserts accelerate to seven cuts between 25 and 30 seconds, making distraction felt rather than explained. The final 14.5-second stretch then slows into a human reset, URL, and isolated logo.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A cinematic miniature about a worker whose task is eroded by alerts and clock-watching. The product is withheld while close-ups make the distraction feel increasingly oppressive; a calm human reset and a sparse brand/URL reveal close the film. The post copy supplies the explicit promise—set a goal, choose a duration, block distractions—while the film conveys the feeling that promise solves.
Why it works
- The 6.2-second wide opening establishes a believable working space before the first cut; the first three seconds contain no cuts or graphic changes.
- Repeated eye, cursor, clock, and notification inserts between 14 and 31 seconds turn an internal attention problem into visible events. The pace peaks at seven cuts from 25–30 seconds.
- The 36.2–50.8-second final shot slows down sharply after the montage, leaving room for a face, tactile end image, URL, and logo.

| Reference | |
|---|---|
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 4:3 · 960×720 · 23.98 fps · 50.8 s |
| Pace | 29 detected shots; 28 cuts; 33.1–34.3 cuts/min allowing one uncertain change; 40.2 picture changes/min; mean shot 1.75 s, median 0.92 s |
| Script | Visual narrative; no reliable dialogue or voiceover transcript. Post copy gives the product promise. |
| Voice | No clearly verified speaking voice. A six-word automatic transcript at 28.9–29.8 s has low confidence on every word and should not guide a remake. |
| On screen | Live-action wide/medium work scene, many extreme close-up inserts, brief computer/notification views, black hold, tactile end slate. |
| Captions | None. Small serif URL at ~47 s and a small white icon at ~49 s. |
| Sound | Audio track present; low introductory level (−22.1 dBFS), −14.6 LUFS integrated. ~85 BPM tempo estimate has 0.1 confidence. Cut accents are not clearly evidenced. |
| Structure | Four phases: patient setup, interruptions, accelerating overload, quiet resolution/brand reveal. Product benefit is explicit in accompanying post text. |
