The Guest List photo cascade
A blog launch teaser that pins its title over a 0.3-second party-photo cascade, framed by black identity cards.
Field notes / why it works
The name stays centered over 42 rapidly changing candid photos from 0:01.5 to 0:14.8, making a 158-cuts/min montage readable. A 1.47-second black end card restores visual calm and reinforces the property name; alternating close portraits, groups and action prevents the photo run from feeling repetitive.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A black title card and brand mark introduce an editorial property, then a near-stroboscopic run of candid social photographs makes its subject feel like a living scene. A centered title stays in the same place while the photographs and its colour change. The film ends on the original title card; the post copy, rather than the video, explains the blog and supplies the invitation.
Why it works
- The title occupies the same middle band from 0:01.7 through 0:14.8, so it remains readable as the 0.29–0.33-second photos change behind it.
- The 43 measured cuts in 16.3 seconds (158/min) turn a photo archive into a rhythmic identity reveal; by 0:03, five cuts have followed the calm opening.
- The 1.47-second black closing card at 0:14.8 gives the eye time to retain the name after the rapid montage.
