Field notes / why it works

The opening makes the feature concrete through a shopping task before the presenter names it at about 0:14. Two extended interface demonstrations (roughly 0:34–1:40 and 1:41–2:30) show actions and results, with 39 internal picture changes sustaining movement despite only 18 detected cuts. The last 30 seconds switch back to the presenter, accelerate the cuts, and make the $199 offer large on screen at 2:47.7.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A three-minute, 4:3 feature launch starts with an ordinary user task, reveals the new capability through a presenter, then spends most of its time showing two real tasks unfold on screen. A second presenter and a physical device keep the screen demos human; the last 30 seconds turn the proof into availability, price, and a direct action.

Why it works

  • The first 14 seconds pose an everyday task before the 0:14.5 announcement, giving the feature a use case instead of opening on a spec list.
  • Two proof arcs occupy roughly 0:34–1:40 and 1:41–2:30; browser states and a visible result support the claim, while 39 changes within shots refresh a cut-sparse film.
  • The close replaces task detail with presenter energy, a big price card at 2:47.7, and the no-subscription point at 2:48.5.

Pace19 detected shots, 18 cuts; 6.0–6.6 cuts/min including uncertain changes. 39 internal steps; 18.9 total picture changes/min. Mean shot 9.51 s, median 2.97 s.
Script272 spoken words; 94 wpm across full runtime, about 161 wpm while speaking. 30 short sentences averaging 9.1 words; four questions.
VoiceLow-register male voices: explanatory narration, then conversational presenters and deliberate device/task commands. No spoken imitation needed.
On screenOpening graphic and task setup; long runs of browser/device proof; two people on a spare studio set; CRT display and bright handheld prop. Approximate by runtime (inferred): 55–60% interface/monitor proof, 35–40% people and prop, under 5% title/end cards.
CaptionsNo editorial subtitles or karaoke captions; only native interface copy, title art, logo, and a large price card.
SoundContinuous tonal/music-like bed (measured heuristic), roughly 96 BPM; natural speech and device/task audio. No clear cut-synced effects. −18.0 LUFS integrated; measured true peak +0.2 dBFS.
StructureScenario → feature reveal → task one → task two → availability/price/CTA. Price lands at 2:47.7; CTA around 2:50.
