The Keyboard Replacement Launch Film
A theatrical keyboard cold open leads into real desktop demos, founder explanation, and a final user endorsement.
Field notes / why it works
The first 3.23 seconds hold on a suited person sawing a keyboard, creating a visual question that the stark title begins to answer at 0:03.2. Familiar chat, messaging, email, and document interfaces provide visible proof, including a 19.8-second email shot that lets the result finish. Sparse brand cards at 1:12–1:19 reset the pace before a different, personal testimonial voice closes the 92-second film.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A strange, physical image makes a familiar tool look obsolete: a suited person saws a computer keyboard in a workshop. A stark announcement card and direct-to-camera founder then introduce a replacement, while desktop recordings prove it in familiar apps, followed by a personal endorsement and a download card. The first product promise appears around 0:03–0:06, before the feature demonstrations begin.
Why it works
- The opening gives the viewer an immediate visual question: why is someone sawing a keyboard? It holds the same action for 3.23 seconds, then cuts to a large black-on-white claim at 0:03.2.
- Product proof moves across recognisable contexts: messaging at 0:06–0:19, an app-grid universality claim at 0:24–0:28, email at 0:28–0:48, and a document/AI command at 0:51–1:00.
- The film alternates polished announcement material with unpolished, visible use. A small live speaker window over screen captures connects spoken instructions to their written outcomes; the final endorsement at 1:18.7 adds a second human voice.
