Viggle Mobile App Launch Film
A 32-second app launch film that alternates rapid keyword cards, phone UI proof, a dense example collage, and a held download card.
Field notes / why it works
The opening pairs an angled product phone with a large benefit headline at 0:00, then pivots to logo and launch words within 5 seconds. Fast 0.27–0.53-second type cards alternate with longer UI and result holds, and the 22–27.5-second example collage turns the broad promise into visible range. A 3.34-second end card gives the URL, QR code, and store badges time to register.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A wide-screen mobile-app announcement starts with an angled phone and a two-word benefit, flashes through a logo ident, then reveals availability one word at a time. It proves the product with a device tour and a grid of varied outcomes, before a download card with a QR code and store destinations.
Why it works
- The first frame puts a real-looking app UI beside the benefit claim; the image changes after 0.1 s, then the logo resolves by about 1 s.
- The release message is delivered in five high-contrast text cards from 2.3–4.1 s, so it reads even without audio.
- A device showcase at 4.9–14.2 s gives way to two quick text runs and a dense example collage at 22–25 s; the final 3.3 s holds a usable download action.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 1280×720, 16:9 · 32.4 s · 30 fps |
| Pace | 31 measured shots, 30 cuts; 55.5 cuts/min, or up to 70.3 if eight uncertain internal changes are cuts. Mean shot 1.05 s; median 0.53 s. |
| Script | No spoken script established. Text cards carry the message in 1–3 words. A lone automatic “You” detection at 31 s is inconclusive. |
| Voice | No narrator or talking head established. |
| On screen | Designed app/device renders and kinetic type, intercut with a multi-example composited collage. No presenter. |
| Captions | No speech subtitles; large centered headline cards take their place. |
| Sound | Music-like rhythmic bed, estimated 74 BPM (rough heuristic). No clear cut-specific effects; −11.8 LUFS measured, +0.6 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Product/benefit → logo → launch statement → UI and creation proof → use-case montage → download CTA. |
