Field notes / why it works

The first five seconds turn familiar old computer controls into a visual question, then the 0:10–0:15 sequence carries viewers through Start-button eras to the new app icon. A 0:18–0:31 run of real UI actions supplies product proof at roughly one cut per second, followed by a simple full-screen download card around 0:32.5.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A new desktop product is introduced by taking viewers from an older computing era into a polished, modern interface. The first 13 seconds build a sense of time passing through archival-looking Windows imagery and Start-button close-ups; the next 20 seconds prove the new experience through rapid UI demonstrations; a full-screen download card closes the film.

Why it works

  • The opening makes the contrast visible before explaining it: a 1990s desktop at 0:00–0:05 and a new app icon by 0:14.5.
  • The interface tour does not rest on one static screen: 37 shots in 36.6 seconds, with especially fast details around 0:19–0:30.
  • A simple final instruction lands after the proof: “Download now” fills the frame around 0:32.5–0:34.5.
