Arc Live Folders Turn Pull Requests Into Sidebar Items

A 30-second feature launch shows a GitHub action becoming a live sidebar item, then builds the benefit with bold type, UI proof, and a short presenter payoff.

Field notes / why it works

The first 3.5 seconds show cause and effect: a pull request is created, then appears in the sidebar. Five cobalt title cards between 0:05 and 0:24 make the benefit readable without narration, while 18 shots in 29.9 seconds move between UI proof, tactile laptop footage, and a brief presenter explanation at 0:19.

Plate 01 / The format in one breath

A compact feature announcement starts with proof: a GitHub pull request is created and appears as a live item in a browser sidebar by 0:02. A personable presenter, bold blue headline cards, close-up workflow footage, and one simple benefit explain why the change matters. The release date and logo close the film.

Why it works

  • The first 3.5 s show cause and effect before the feature is named; the viewer sees a click produce a sidebar item.
  • Three bold headline cards at 0:05.4, 0:09.1, and 0:12.1 turn a potentially technical integration into a five-word idea: sidebar, alive, pull requests.
  • The long silent demonstration between 0:05.4 and 0:18.7 lets UI evidence carry the claim; the presenter returns at 0:19.0 to clarify that setup is unnecessary.
