Superlist’s Ambition-to-App Launch Film
A 34-second launch film that turns a typed universal claim and cinematic ambition montage into a rapid human-action burst, then reveals the list app.
Field notes / why it works
A centered sentence builds over one uncut 6.57-second dark card, then four cinematic examples make the idea feel expansive before the app appears. A half-second black reset and seven rapid shots from 0:17.7 to 0:20.1 create a sharp pace change; three slower UI panels and a 5.82-second end card give the product and benefit time to register.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A large, slowly typed universal claim leads into cinematic images of human ambition. A brief question and a seven-shot human-action burst transfer that scale to an ordinary task; the app arrives only after 20 seconds, followed by use-case cards, closer UI proof, and a restrained end card. The promise is visible before the product, then the product provides the answer.
Why it works
- The first 6.57 seconds hold one dark canvas while a centered sentence assembles, making the claim readable and creating anticipation without cuts.
- Four ambitious visual examples between 0:06.6 and 0:14.8 widen the emotional stakes; seven rapid shots from 0:17.7 to 0:20.1 sharply increase energy at the turn toward everyday action.
- Product proof occupies 0:20.1–0:28.1, then the 5.82-second end card gives the name, benefit, and platforms enough time to register.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 1280×720, 16:9 · 33.9 s at 29.97 fps |
| Pace | 18 shots, 17 cuts, 30.1 cuts/min; 2 internal visual steps, 33.7 picture changes/min; mean shot 1.88 s, median 1.85 s. The opening alone lasts 6.57 s. |
| Script | Sparse display copy, not a conventional narration script. Automatic transcription suggests 32 spoken words / 59 wpm overall, but 23 words are low confidence and several phrases conflict with the visuals. Do not use those words as a script. |
| Voice | No identifiable presenter. Possible low-register spoken or sampled vocal within the soundtrack (inferred from the uncertain transcript). |
| On screen | Kinetic type/title cards ~45%; aspirational live-action or cinematic footage ~24%; rapid human-action footage ~7%; product UI/use-case cards ~24% (approximate shares from shot durations). |
| Captions | None. Type functions as headline, question, category labels, and end-card copy. |
| Sound | Continuous tonal, music-like bed; rough beat estimate 134 BPM, low confidence. Measured −15.9 LUFS integrated, −0.9 dBFS true peak. No clear cut-by-cut SFX evidence. |
