Tidy Tabs: a browser feature in 20 seconds
An Arc feature launch that alternates bold blue text cards with a fast, close-up browser UI transformation.
Field notes / why it works
The reassurance card resolves by 0:00.5, then tabs visibly accumulate from 0:01.3 to 0:04.4 before the feature is named. Blue headline cards at 0:04.4 and 0:08.5 reset attention; the close Clear action at 0:09.7 and three quick UI examples show a concrete result. Twelve shots in 20.5 seconds keep the product demo brisk, while the final URL holds 3.17 seconds.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A silent, music-led feature announcement gives the viewer permission to use a product freely, shows the clutter that creates, then reveals the one action that organizes it. Short white type cards on saturated blue punctuate close browser captures; a final availability card and URL make the launch unmistakable.
Why it works
- The first legible promise lands by 0:00.25, while the actual browser appears at 0:01.3: reassurance precedes proof.
- Text cards at 0:04.4 and 0:08.5 divide the UI demonstration into setup and feature reveal; the 0:09.7 “Clear” action becomes the payoff.
- Twelve shots in 20.5 s (32.2 cuts/min) give motion to a sidebar UI without needing a narrator; the 3.17 s final URL holds long enough to read.
