Field notes / why it works
The opening moves from a tiny disc to a close eye by shot 4 at 1.50 s, making scale the hook without words. The evolving geometric passages in shots 13 and 29 contrast with the short action details, and the second pass beginning at shot 17 turns repetition into anticipation. A fade begins around frame 777, reducing the picture to black rather than holding a static final frame.
