Search ideas become a finished room
A Pinterest brand film turns a typed decor search and saved ideas into a gradual live-action room makeover.
Field notes / why it works
The search appears around 1.0 seconds and contrasting result cards by 2.0 seconds, creating a clear visual question before any vocal begins. A fixed sofa and room anchor the successive decor additions from 13.4 to 23.9 seconds, making the product's inspiration-to-action promise visible without explanatory narration. The film clears to a minimal logo at 28.6 seconds after the transformed room has had time to register.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
Two people sit in a nearly empty living room. A search for decorating ideas opens floating visual choices; as they browse and save, the room takes on the colours, furniture and plants of their chosen mood. The product is shown as a bridge from discovery to action, and the film ends on a clean brand card.
Why it works
- The first result appears by 2.0 s, giving the viewer a concrete choice within the opening three seconds.
- One stable room and sofa make the accumulating changes from 13.4–23.9 s easy to read; each new object feels like a payoff.
- The product UI has visible actions—search, result cards and save badges—before the room becomes the result (2.0–23.9 s).
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 1280×720, 16:9 · 30.1 s · 24 fps |
| Pace | 5 measured shots, 4 cuts, 8 cuts/min; 7 internal graphic/scene changes; 22 picture changes/min; 6.01 s mean shot. The last measured shot is a 0.06 s tail frame. |
| Script | No explanatory narration. The measured transcript is 21 repeated vocal words, about 60 wpm across the full film; it functions as a musical refrain. |
| Voice | Low, rhythmic, conversational vocal refrain in the soundtrack; the pitch measurement is unreliable as a performance guide because of music (inferred). |
| On screen | Mostly wide live-action room and two seated adults, with floating interface cards and environmental compositing; one closer human beat, then a plain end card. |
| Captions | No speech captions. Search text, short result labels, save badges and the final logo carry the message. |
| Sound | Continuous upbeat, tonal music-like bed; approximate 117 BPM; vocals begin near 8.4 s. −15.4 LUFS integrated; −1.6 dBFS true peak. |
| Structure | Empty canvas → search and options → human choice → physical room transformation → logo. Payoff grows from 13.4 to 23.9 s; end card begins 28.6 s. |
