Economic Freedom Ranking Reveal
A 15-second blue-and-white type animation turns a ranked list into a pointed final selection.
Field notes / why it works
A repeated-letter mark clears in the first 0.75 seconds, then a small heading and seven ranked entries appear by 0:02.2 without needing narration. A pale selection bar guides the eye from an early rank to the rank-25 payoff near 0:07.5, making the list itself tell the story.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A large typographic mark on a single vivid colour dissolves into a stark, terminal-like ranked list. The list reveals a surprising position, using a pale selection bar as the viewer's eye guide. The original uses an economic-freedom ranking to imply a case for changing the financial system; a new version should supply its own documented data and point.
Why it works
- The mark made of repeated letters changes visibly during 0:00–0:00.75, creating a visual question before any heading appears.
- The heading arrives by about 0:01.25, and ranks 1–7 are readable by 0:02.2; the premise becomes clear without speech.
- The selection moves from rank 1 at roughly 0:02.5 to a lower rank around 0:03.8, then to rank 25 at about 0:07.5. That progression makes the final placement the payoff.
