Base’s Expanding Circle Launch Film
A music-led launch film turns one blue circle into a visual system for claims, use cases, and ecosystem proof.
Field notes / why it works
The macro blue-white aperture resolves into a circle by 0:01.75, giving the film a symbol it can keep reusing. One claim stem changes its highlighted word across 0:05–0:13 while the disc multiplies from four into rows at 0:18–0:22. Saturated use-case cards at 0:24–0:29 and ecosystem marks at 0:41–0:49 turn an abstract promise into applications and proof.
Plate 01 / The format in one breath
A 62-second, landscape, music-led announcement turns one blue-and-white aperture into a visual alphabet. A sequence of short future-facing claims grows into a field of circles, then a burst of use cases, ecosystem marks, and a simple closing invitation. The promise becomes legible at about 0:05 when the first claim appears; the opening three seconds sell the look before any words.
Why it works
- The abstract split circle appears within the first second, fills the screen, then shrinks to a single disc by 0:02.75. The same geometry supports the entire film, so later screens feel related.
- One sentence stem changes its final word at roughly 0:05, 0:06.4, 0:08, 0:09.6, and 0:11.2, making the promise easy to scan while the four discs rotate.
- At 0:18–0:22, dozens of discs bracket the claim about builders; at 0:24–0:29, the design jumps to saturated category cards; at 0:41–0:49, real ecosystem marks supply proof. Each stage adds specificity.
Plate 02 / Format card
| Platform · aspect · length | X · 1280 × 720, 16:9 · 62.1 s at 24 fps |
| Pace | 5 measured shots, 4 cuts, 3.9 cuts/min; 26 internal steps, 29 picture changes/min; mean shot 12.41 s |
| Script | No verified spoken script. Short on-screen clauses and labels; usually 2–5 words per state. |
| Voice | None verified. The machine transcript reads music as speech, including an unrelated ending phrase; treat it as transcription error. |
| On screen | Approximately 100% motion graphics and typography, with partner/product marks in the last third. No people or live-action footage. |
| Captions | No subtitles. Editorial headline cards: clean sans for claims; uppercase mono for category cards and ending. |
| Sound | Continuous upbeat electronic bed (inferred from measurement), roughly 117 BPM; −13.7 LUFS integrated. No verified cut effects. |
| Structure | Aperture hook → rotating values → scale claim → use-case burst → proof cards → three closing cards and URL. |
